CUFA was Founded in Brazil in 1999, 10 years ago. Celso Athayde is the great mind behind the idea that became a movement of empowerment of the impoverished, in the most intense do-it-for-yourself style, as opposed to simply being assisted by Government and non-profit programs.
CUFA is present in all 27 states of Brazil and develops projects in the areas of Education, Evironment, Culture and Sports.
MV Bill is another Founding member of CUFA, he's a rapper, a docummentarist, a writer, and above all , a social activist, whose presence is required in several meetings by the brazilian government when to redefine social politics.
CUFA - Central Unica das Favelas (United Central of the Favelas) is the strongest grass-root organization in Brazil and it is now setting foot in the US.
